    Pollock kilt in weathered colors

A tartan that is dominantly red and green, e.g., the Modern Pollock (below), can be kind of "Christmas-y" in modern colors.

If red and green isn't quite what you want, the weathered/reproduction version is a nice alternative. Green is replaced by khaki, scarlet is replaced by red that is more "tomato soup" or brick red in color. Makes a pretty swell kilt!! This particular tartan was a custom weave, but many tartans are available as commercial weaves in a weathered palette.

    Tartan

Was this material from DC Dagliesh? I saw it a few years ago but never followed up on buying it. If so, did you have to buy a set amount of fabric (ie: min 10 yards)?

This was actually a custom weave from Dalgliesh, and the customer ordered only one kilt length.

Agreed, the weathered version is actually quite handsome. And leaps and bounds better than the modern colors version IMO.
