Well, I'll keep my hopes up. But feel free to come out even if they don't come in time. I'll be asking a couple friend to come with that don't own kilts.

I'm certainly up for it, if it's held on a weekend evening. Although the Houston Highland games may be discontinued for a time, the Houston Highland Games Association is still in existence. The HHGA has sporadic kilted events, one of which was held a couple of weekends ago at Mo's Irish Pub in Vintage Park on Louetta Drive. Here's a webby to frequent to pick up on a future event.

Until then, organize a meet! Sounds like fun!

Yes, May 30th is a Sat. So we should be good. I'll peg down a venue and time in a couple weeks. I'm getting ready for finals, and wrapping up some projects.

Yep, I follow HHGA on Facebook. It's hard for me to attend most things since I live in Huntsville. I have mentioned the kilt night to them through FB messenger. Twice. They have not replied. I'm pretty disappointed in them to be honest. They are not having games because of a lack of participation, and funds (due to lack of participation). I'm making an event they could participate in and raise their profile, and they just ignore it. I wonder how they got in this spot. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but that's how it looks from over here.

I was able to email someone in HHGA, and I got a reply back from the president. They are interested and will email the members. I just need to finalize the plans.

BTW, I've been to the Goose's Acre. The food, scenery, music, and beer are favorable!

I wanted The Woodlands because it was half way from me (Huntsville) to Houston (more people). I havn't been to many places in The Woodlands, and neither my friends, not Google knew of a Scottish pub in the area. But I knew Goose's was a good place. They do always have a good selection of craft beer. I will admit I am a beer snob. It's a big place, and has a nice old feel to it.

Oo, not to be a continuous party-pooper, but I will not be able to attend as I will still be in NY on business. A busy year, this one.

Let me know of the next one, please!

If you get one started in the area, let me know. I am from Baytown, so driving to North Houston might be a wee long
    drive.

I understand, I drove to La Port the other weekend to visit my brother and his family from where I live in Huntsville. I felt The Woodlands would be a good compromise for most of Houston. By boats, is that a reference to boatswain's mate?
