    Spelling Variation Pronunciation

Hello all on this wonderful forum! My last name is McIntosh, obviously a variation of MacKintosh.
I was researching family genealogy and traced my very distant relatives back to a man named Laichlan Mackyntoich in 1468.

I was just curious as to whether Mackyntoich is pronounced the same or similarly to MacKintosh.

    Thanks!

All the spelling variations are just attempts to represent the Gaelic "Mac an Ṭisich" (son of the chief) from a time when spelling was fairly arbitrary. Since the Gaelic pronunciation has not changed, all the various orthographic transcriptions would have the same "anglicised" pronunciation nowadays.
