"Neo Jacobite" Look for a Wedding Gig
Our band manager took me aside at the end of April and asked me if I wanted to do a wedding in July and of course my first response was no, I'm not ready yet. She then very firmly said yes, you are. So I met with the couple, discussed their plan for a casual, eclectic, farm venue wedding. The husband had already ordered charcoal grey Utilikilts for himself and the groomsmen, so I decided our traditional band kit wasn't going to do. He also mentioned that he was a blacksmith and their theme was going to be the blacksmith takes a wife, which got me thinking more historical, and led me this, shall we say "neo Jacobite" look.
Credits go to Donnie for the sporran, Matt Newsome for the kilt, and Joannie Newsome for the kilt hose.
Hopefully I can get my hands on some wedding pictures. The wedding party actually looked quite sharp with cream shirts and apricot and green ruched bow ties and matching flashes.

I like that look very much. The high quality of the various elements certainly adds to it. I hope your piping at the wedding went well.
