    Tarheel, my OP was a question on what other ladies wear for events. I'm challenged in the sewing skills, so I had someone make my bodice. But I too want to see photos from scots3rdgen.
    I think you captured a very cool look with that outfit. Perhaps someone here already mentioned it, but you might also consider wearing an arisaid. During a recent highland event, a female friend arranged a rather large amount of tartan on the ground and folded sections into pleats. She then, with assistance, belted it with a medieval style belt, and pinned the upper portion with a Celtic brooch.

    I would love to get an arisaid. Especially in our tartan. Alas, McAlister tartan does not come easily, so my rosette will have to do for now.

    I have not gotten to wear it for an event yet. But, I might give it a test run on Halloween to see what adjustments need to be made for an all day event.
