I like to wear a pocket watch. Its usually too hot to wear a waistcoat. I was just wondering if anyone else wears a pocket watch with a kilt and how they go about it.
As I am in the UK, heat is not usually an issue, so I wear my pocket watch attached to my waistcoat usually in conjunction with my kilt jacket. Sometimes, if I wear just my kilt jacket with my kilt I then carry my pocket watch in my outside breast pocket with the chain hanging from the lapel button hole. If the rare occasion of it being hot enough to dispense with both jacket and waistcoat, then I use my wristwatch, or mobile phone, or more usually guesswork!

I wear or rather use a pocket watch all the time now, when kilted it is either in the waistcoat pocket or my sporran, when wearing Saxon dress I have it in my trouser front pocket or of course in my waistcoat if I am wearing one.

My pocket watch is usually worn hanging from one of the buttons on my waistcoat. Other times the clip end of the fob is attached to the waist band of the kilt behind the belt and the watch is tucked in between the belt and the kilt. It's not too traditional, but I have found it a functional option.
