Sherri and I watched the very impressive openning ceremonies. I enjoyed seeing the many non-bifurcated native attire during the Parade of Nations.
Well that's something I would have liked to have seen.
Locally the Australian 'uniform' has come under a lot of criticism.
I get sick of it all.

Graham what is the aussie uniform and who is whining about what? And rigged if you know how to reach NBC and know the Idiots name I wouldn't mind calling. You would be supprised at how much weight a few letters can have especially when they think it will affect their wallets.

Dave it was a green printed uniform they wore at the opening ceremony, I think it looked silly too, they would have looked better in kilts!

At least the Australians didn't look half as bad as the Americans! The Americans came strutting in wearing what looked like hand-me-downs from a 70's blaxploitation movie about gay sailors.

Yeah for you, American olympic team. We wouldn't want to dispell the "Ugly American" stereotype, now would we? :x

sorry if this sounds like a stereotype

When I think about the Aussies I think of Kakie(sic)
safari shorts and shirt and that cool looking hat, like the one worn by your military during WW 2.
which of course would seem to be very practical.I guess most of my aussie input has come from old war movies and nature shows.
