Albannach Scottish Wool Kilt by Bonnie

I actually got this from Bonnie a few months ago but have been super busy and unable to snap/post pics. Finally got around to it today.

A little history. The Albannach tartan was developed by the band and Rocky Roeger from USA Kilts. USAKilts sells the tartan in PV but a friend of mine wanted it in wool so, with permission from the band and Rocky, he had a run done in Scottish wool. I purchased a great kilt from him in January of this year and sent it to Bonnie, who rendered it into a beautiful 5 yard kilt. Withel the leftover fabric, she made a matching shawl for my wife. She even sent me the remaining fabric which proved to be enough for me to make a pair of flashes.

I couldn't be happier with the kilt and Bonnie's workmanship was superb. We finally got a chance to wear both to the local Ren Faire today and I'm posting some pics below.

Here's a quick pic of the kilt the day it arrived:

Here's one from the local Ren Faire. The stain on the apron was courtesy of some drunk who bumped into me and spilled their drink. Luckily, it came out with some water:

And here's one with my wife and I, showing both the kilt and shawl:

If you're interested, the tartan is available in PV from USA Kilts

Thanks again to Bonnie for her superior workmanship and being a total pleasure to work with. I couldn't recommend her more.

I love my PV Albannach kilt rocky made me, the tartan is one of my favorites, and the meaning behind the colors is a story in itself.

Mine is a casual kilt and is my go-to pub apparrel, having one in wool would be something amazing!

Now I know what tartan to look for around Annapolis. I hope to make the MDRF at least one day this year. I know I only have 3 more (including today) left.
