Just back from Poole waterside after seeing a great fireworks display and then eating sausages.
The weather was not too unkind, a bit damp but nothing needing waterproofs.
These days I wear a kilt to celebrate any day at all.

Mine is always "I am heading off to (or, just coming from) a funeral (or, a wedding)."
Often people will say "Where are your bagpipes?" to which I say "there in the car".

My response is: "I don't play the pipes, but I do drink Scots whisky"

I get asked Far's (where are) yer pipes? to which I always produce my tobacco pipe and say "Here. Why?" they always seem disappointed that it doesn't play a tune...

I think you'll find that Scott doesn't mind. I intentionally didn't spell it Scot's or Scotch.😉

Your lucky Scot doesn't mind, if you were drinking my whisky without permission I'd be upset.

On the USA Kilts blog (http://www.usakilts.com/blog.html), there is an entry entitled 'Celtic Roots of Halloween.' It includes a sign that says 'KEEP CALM AND CELEBRATE SAMHAIN'. Suddenly, I don't feel quite so isolated!

I recently procured a tartan Santa hat to wear for the Christmas period. Seriously considering getting something cheap and cheerful to match... probably not going to be that hard seeing as the tartan is Royal Stewart!
