Again in Helena this year, there will be two celebrations in Honor of the Immortal Bard.

The Pipes and Drums of the Black Devils are hosting a formal Burns Dinner at the Colonial Inn on Saturday, January 23rd. This a black tie formal dress-up affair, with limited tickets, and they do expect to sell out. If you are interested, contact them through their website, or via their Facebook page.

Two old rascals and their most helpful assistants are hosting a Community Burns Nicht beginning at 5:30 PM on Saturday, January 30th, at the Free Ceramics Studio and Gallery on Logan in downtown Helena. The meal, as is our tradition, is potluck. Dress is more casual if preferred, or more formal if folks want to go the Montrose doublet and jabot look with their kilt. We know we have done this for "more than 20 years" but do not care to count above that level, so with exception of a couple of years recently, have been at it for over 2 decades. Haggis will be presented at 6:30 PM, with the potluck meal to follow.

If you are in or will be traveling through Montana around these times, and would like more details on the above two events, please pm me here on XMarks.
