Thumbs up Maple in the snow!

Mother-in-law came to visit us for the week, but her car got snowed-in... had to do something about it!

Then we did a little jig afterwards! I know, I know... very ungraceful, but baby liked it!

Thanks, Rocky and Mack, for a beautiful kilt!

That's all you got in western PA?!?!

Our snow total was 23" and the plowed banks are head high! Ugh... spent the day yesterday (and half the day Saturday) plowing out the driveway and my neighbors.

Kudos for doing it in a kilt though!

Yeah, we only got about 6 inches... not anywhere near what we anticipated... still, roads were bad Saturday morning, because it didn't seem like anyone plowed Friday night. Consistent with the City'o'Pittsburgh's MO.

And only saw 1 private plow truck on Saturday... roads seem like they got cleared just by having traffic wearing out the snow into brown muck.

I wore the Maple in reminiscence of your pic a few years ago, shoveling out your store front!

Anytime you can put a smile on your baby's face, it's a good time. Well done and looking good kilting in the snow.

May I ask which version of the Maple Leaf tartan that is, from which Mill?

It is from Batley, 16oz wool.

Here is an older run of the cloth Rocky had in the past (which I referenced).

I do like the coloration of the Batley-woven cloth over the others.

I'm a big fan of the Muted, myself, but can only dream of it being woven in 16oz. It's a tartan I'd like to wear all year, but I'm skeptical of the ability of medium weight wool to keep me warm on those -30 Celsius days.
The one you've got might just be the compromise I've been looking for though. Mighty fine tartan, that.

I had preferred as muted a pallet as I could, which is why I picked Batley's to begin with. However, my batch of cloth seemed to have a much darker green than earlier batches, making it a bit more contrasty.

Oh well! I love it none the less!
