    A Visit to Freedom Kilts

I've seen it said here many times before, but I must add my voice....

I visited Fredom Kilts today to pick up a kilt that I had brought in for alterations, and to discuss the upcoming Kilt Kamp.

Steve was a fountain of knowledge and very welcoming. He provided some valuable insight, and a bit of a preview as to what to expect at Kilt Kamp, which will definitely help me to practice so I won't be struggling when it comes time to make my own kilt!

The alterations were also first rate, and done speedily.

Thank you Steve for taking the time out of your busy day to share some of your great knowledge. I am truly looking forward to learning more at Kilt Kamp!

    Another pleasant visit

I too just recently stopped in to see Steve and his shop, this past weekend. Steve is always welcoming and filled with useful info. A pleasant 'visit' (and a few purchases)

It was very nice to see you again taskr,

And to answer your question - Yes, I would offer the same conditions for a special weave of the Alberta Tartan in modern colorway as I am offering for the Quebec Tartan. That was not a special or discounted price.

I have two weaving mills who will produce a special weave with a minimum yardage requirement of 11 meters double-width. As a man's kilt will require approx 4 double width meters you could get just less than 3 kilts from one 11 meter length.

And the 11 meter number is just an estimate. There could be plus or minus 10% due to weaving or finishing effects. As a special weave is not actually that much more expensive than stock fabrics I usually suggest to my customers that ordering one additional meter, giving them 3 full kilts from one length could be beneficial in the long run.
