    Maid of the Loch: to be rebuilt.

    The steamship, Maid of the Lock, last sailed on Loch Lomond in 1981. She was acquired by a charity in 1996.

    That is great news. As someone that works with historic vessels it always does my heart good to see another returning to glory.

    Good news indeed.
    I had lunch on board Maid of the Loch which is currently static at Balloch Pier in July 2014 and received a guided tour from John Beveridge who is mentioned in your link.
    There's a lot of work needed, including a new boiler.
    Meantime there are other smaller tourist boats plying Loch Lomond if you plan to visit.
