    New McClain Dirk

    Purchased, but have not received.

    Made by Glen McClain, I picked it up from a fellow collector of Glen's Work.

    Handle is walnut and Moose Antler, Sterling cap, Ebony and Ivory accents.
    Cant wait to have it in my grubby paws

    Congratulations! That is a very nice piece of Glenn's work. Looks like one of his late-17th c./early 18th c. dirks.

    Yes, it is "Old" when viewed from a 1750's perspective. The Composite handles, I think there are only 2-3 and all pretty early. I almost wonder if they were a regional phenomenon, but one that given the total lack of collection history, is now lost to us.
