Courtesy of a chance meeting my daughter had last week, on Saturday I ventured out to meet up with a crowd of kilt wearing Scots, the majority from less than 20 miles away. I had never heard of Clan Derby before and had no idea what to expect. However being Scots, meeting up in a pub seemed an obvious solution.
As luck would have it, it also turned out that a crowd by the name of Pirate Mutiny were also putting in an appearance at Matlock Bath that weekend.
Soon it was time to move on the the next pub, where seemingly the pirates forthcoming appearance was advertised.
The next pub is called the Fishpond.
A little drinking was involved.
We met up with another expatriate Scot.
This guy had a ride-on - ride-off trike across the road.
We passed some interesting people on the way to the next stop.
To be continued.
