    My Sgian Dubh's

43 .jpg42 .jpg46 Not aTraditional Sgian Dubh but mine for 45 years .jpg

I searched quite diligently for a Daywear Sgian Dubh that brought back memories. I also did a bit of thinking about the "wee knife" and what it meant traditionally.....I think truthfully the knife wasn't designed specifically to be used just as a weapon but what was used was a knife that could be carried or concealed easily. I made the one from a carving knife that my father used to carve the Christmas turkey and the other I have carried in the bush for over 45 years and will now carry either as my Day wear Sgian Dubh.......just sayin'

Nice stuff, I think the best sgian dubhs are the ones that have a story behind them, you have two great stories and two great sgians.

Agreed, that the tool you are used to, should be the one at hand. Good looking tools you have.

I have often said that a sgian dubh is a pocket knife for the man without pockets.
