Welcome LKM! And Nighthawk isn't entirely correct, I'm another Coloradoan too. Three of us might be worth trying to arrange a meetup...

A Rocky Mountain welcon from the Blue Mountains

Welcome to the diverse, informative site for the bold kilt wearers of all description. As a fouth-generation Coloradan now residing in the Highlands of Oregon, I can attest to the style and function of a kilt even in the depths of winter. I wore my kilt with a Harris tweed jacket and wool kilt hose in 20°F weather and was comfortably warm. Many of the folks in poofey jackets seemed to be feeling the cold and we shivvering.

A kilt is good for any weather, though a lighter kilt (I have one of three yards) is better in the tropics. On our expedition to Australia on the Queen Mary 2, I purchased the Fijian attire, a sulu, which is similar to a kilt without the pleats. I was told by a native that they are best in the temeratures and he indicated that "Commando" was the preffered mode.

As we can see, trousers are merely one way of dressing. For us, the kilt is stylish and comfortable and variatns are found in many countries and times.

Wear it with pride - you look great in it!

    Best regards.

And a big welcome from Frederick, MD. Where in CO are you? My daughter lived for a few years in Castle Pines, and of course we visited a number of times. I also have suppliers in Boulder.
    Regards,
    Tom

Born in Fort Collins, spent a lot of time in the Springs, and now living in Douglas county. Where I live is considered part of Castle Rock although it is almost Franktown and was caw pasture about 10 or 15 years ago.
