    Hi from Stirlingshire

Not an everyday kilt wearer, but still a fan

Hi, I'm a Scout Leader, leather worker and Prop maker. I think its a great shame that much of Scotland scorns its own culture, and I'm keen to show that I'm not part of that few ;) I've lurked on the forum for a while, but I've only just got round to registering. Looking forward to being a part of it all!

    'Pip'

Nb- Pippin is my dog's name. My parents weren't misguided enough to name me after a hobbit. Just to clarify.

Welcome, Pippin, from Inverness-shire and British Columbia. The 'Scottish Cringe' is very, very sad, indeed. But on a happy note, I had a wonderful Westie when I lived in Ireland -- called Pippin.

Welcome to the site, (most of my family are not far away in West Lothian)

You may have noticed, but the kilt was the Gaels form of dress not the Scots, so The kilt is technically the culture of only the Gaelic part of Scotland, large in area, but a minor part in population. Until recent times when tourisum took over the kilt, the Whole of Gaelic culture was scorned by many in Scotland outside of Gaeldom and to a certain extent still is.

    Welcome, from Inverness-shire.

You may find the "kilt hire and across the pond" view of kilts and kilt wearing er, um ........ "interesting"!
