    Atlanta Kilt Night Planning

We have been planning our kilt nights rather loosely, almost as a spur of the moment thing. Other areas have their kilt nights on a regular day. Is this something people would prefer, to make it easier to plan ahead for? Or do we prefer the way we've been doing it?

I've also seen a few comments over the last year or so about weekend kilt nights. I'd love to try to do some gatherings on a weekend, day or evening, perhaps to get some new faces to attend.

Finally, our kilt nights have almost all been just meeting at a tavern for food and/or drinks. Is there any desire to meet somewhere else? Perhaps for some sort of structured activity? I can't think of anything else offhand, but I am open to suggestions.

    Thanks, Atlanta rabble!

I seriously need to get back with you guys, I miss the good company!

I'll try to make what I can, but planning around my schedule is problematic. Do we all have Doggies? Maybe a kilted hike with the dogs at a park somewhere sometime?

Hope to see you all again this spring!

I think we've got lots of options ....

    • Kilt nights at a pub
    • Kilted Coffee on a Saturday morning
    • Kilted strolls in the park or on the beltline - this could be combined with lunch and a beer
    • We could meet for the several beer festivals that happen in the area

I'm also open to setting a certain day each month to meet at a local pub - that would certainly make planning easier and we could adjust if someone comes in from out-of-town. We could take turns choosing the venue to reduce the haggling, or just make a master list and set up an automatic rotation.

    Excellent ideas!

For the dog walk, I do have a nice old lady dog. She's going on 13 yrs, and doesn't walk far or fast any more. That would certainly have to be a weekend event, though.

Kilted coffee sounds like a great time, and I've seen a few guys in utility style kilts at various beer festivals, but never a tartan kilt. That would certainly class the place up!

Hopefully I can talk with some people at Burns night who have not come out. Perhaps they aren't aware of the kilt nights, or perhaps they'd prefer an alcohol free event, or a weekend event.

I'm up for pub grub and some libations. If you were able to send out info prior that would be great for me, for scheduling purposes

How about we plan the next Kilt night, at least? I'd love to go for a Saturday afternoon at Johnnie MacCracken's. I've never been, but I hear great things. @Wil, that should be close to you, and hopefully not to far from @Creag
Feb 19th is the only Saturday that I am not free.

As there have been no responses yet, would the 25th be better? Or a different day of the week?
