Hi all,
Note re Newell Highway, I have travelled it often and in far less comfortable vehicles than a Falcon and experienced the horror of road trains even working in the dust off the Gibb River road, but not in a kilt. Despite this, I have danced or worn kilts at many responder's places including Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Nova Scotia and USA from San Francisco to New York and Florida, add in Scotland, New Zealand, Belgium and Mediterranean, Caribbean, Pacific cruises and Highland Games worldwide. I have travelled abroad with Clan Sinclair many times including Scotland and be at the tattoo with them then Normanby in August this year. I have worked in Townsville and worn a kilt in most parts of Australia from Darwin to Tasmania with never an issue, be it hot or cold. I only wear Scottish made 13 or 17 oz wool ones. Wear one anywhere and one thing is for sure, you will always stand out and be the centre of attention and serious kilt checks do not happen.
