    I forged a dirk

    This past year, I finally got to making a forge. Pushing myself, I decided to try building a dirk. Here is a link to a blog I did on it...

    Good to see you you've gotten this project going (hinted by you earlier). A fine piece, with a history and hands on by you, gives it merit and purpose the public can latch onto. Keep up the good work and keep us apprised.

    Nice interpretation. Did you make the grip asymmetrical by intent? Because it's actually a very good shape for a thrust like that, almost like a saber grip.

    It was purely accidental. When putting together so many pieces that were hand carved instead of turned, and the bottoms/tops were not completely flat to fit.

    Love that burl in the middle. Very nice work on all three. The pipe chanter gives the photo a great composition.
