    RE: The back apron.
In use the bad is that the back apron doesn't display that "moving ripple action" of a knife pleat. It breaks it up worse than the Utilkilt Reverse Kinguesse (sp) center pleat.

The good is that you aren't sitting on hardly any pleats. Thus the pleat "rump press" doesn't happen and it is more comfy to your rear over a long drive.

This pleating system is anything but conventional, but seems to work pretty good - With or without the cargo pockets attached.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

    The wait is over

My UPS man delivered my 5.11 Tactical during my lunch hour. I quickly washed my hands and opened the package carefully just I cast a return was inevitable.
I like the kilt a lot. I have no expectation this tactical kilt be like any of my Utilikilts or my other more traditional kilts. As with life, I like a bit of variety and uniqueness to my kilts. Am sure some of the differences that cause concerns and trips to the sewing machine for some are modifications for the sake of manufacturing and to appeal to certain wearers who consider some kilts too " flowey" for their taste. To each his own and as stated, I do enjoy a good variation on a theam.
Well my Easter outfit is set. Glad I made the purchase.
    Be well and happy,

Received my kilt last night. I wear a 34" in Levis and the 34" 5.11 was the right fit at my natural waist which I usually measure at 37". Front apron measured at 23.25" and the rear measured in at 24". Like the fit, like the kilt, another one will be ordered soon. Thanks everyone for their advice and insights!

I look forward to getting my tactical kilt, very exited. UPS screwed up my delivery, and lost the package, but 5.11 replaced it at no cost! Gotta love 5.11!

Wish I could get away with wearing one at my hospital. However, we have a "no bare legs" policy when working. (Someone claimed it was because of our state OSHA rules). On the plus side, it could be a bear to keep clean, considering the frequency with which my patients tend to express their anal glands on my scrubs.

I feel your pain. I work in a dog shelter rather than a hospital, but I suspect our nasty laundry is pretty similar.
    Cheers!

    Exposed legs on animal facilities.

Many have "no exposed legs rules" for the protection of volunteers and the fact that everyone doesn't look good in shorts.
As for to OSHA RULES, never heard of that one. As for the anal gland exposure, sounds like you are dealing with animals who have anal glands like fire hoses. In 33 years of practice have many anal gland exposures but never below the belt.
Also in deciding what to wear, it helps to own the practice.
Let the summer of the 5.11 Tactical Kilt begin!

They're certainly not for those who believe that the only "real" kilts are made from wool woven in a tartan pattern and worn at the natural waist, as they're about as "contemporary" as a kilt can get, but they're the most comfortable lower garments that I own - period. I'm just glad that I'm able to wear them to work on casual days.
So how "small" are those TDKs that have shrunk? Any chance you'll let go of them?
