Scottish Register of Tartans users' survey

For those that receive STR updates - Members will be pleased to note that following the expected delay due to the re-hosting of the Scottish Register of Tartans website, the Customer Insight Survey is now available. You can access the survey here and I would be very grateful if those group members who frequent the website could give five minutes of their time to take the survey.

One glaring thing missing is an "open comments / suggestions" field. My suggestion would be for the register to create and maintain it's own tartan design program, with an easy passthrough to registering the tartan.

There is considerable merit in this idea, Not least it would control the myriad of weird shades that are often submitted but which in reality will never be woven. There is quite a bit of re-design work that could be done behind the scenes but the lack of available funds is preventing that work and would probably affect the NRS' ability to add a design programme at present too.
