Hi guys! I'm Brian and I live in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. I got my first kilt, a Black Watch, as a gift from a friend who went on vacation in Scotland, and I've been hooked ever since. After that a bought a 5.11 Tactical Duty Kilt to use as an everyday working kilt. Luckily enough, my sister who lives in the outskirts of London saw that I was really fascinated with kilts, then gave me a Pride of Scotland as a birthday gift.
Hi Brian, and greetings from the USA. My wife is from the Philippines and now lives here in Arizona. Great to see someone in the Philippines wearing kilts. Like you, I use a pin to keep my kilt from blowing in the wind; here the wind blows 40mph at times. So, how do Filipinos respond to your kilt? People here usually give me compliments and even ask where I got my kilt. Mostly I wear utility type kilts, but I have tartan kilts also. Keep on kilting!

Filipinos aren't as straightforward as you may probably know by now, so mostly I get amused stares and snickering. The only people that come up to me to ask and/or compliment are grandfathers/grandmothers.
And of course there's the usual group of idiot friends who will tease you non-stop, I don't really mind . I know of only two other Filipinos who wear kilts, both of whom belong to the mountaineering club that I was in. We recently found out about this happy coincidence at our last reunion! So I'm not alone
