New to this and very much a novice
While recently in Scotland I purchased a new Kilt from Hector Russell, I tried it on and it seemed to fit very well, problem when I got home I noticed that it was longer than I wanted. I searched the internet and found many suggestions as you could imagine, most said to pull it up, but it was uncomfortable that way. So my question is this, can it be shorten and hemmed properly. A seamstress here said it could. A lady I know recommended this site and said, if any group would know, it would be this site. Thank you

Welcome, from Inverness-shire. As to your kilt, there is a good possibility that if you are used to wearing your trousers at jeans height and you are wearing the kilt in the same place then that might be why its appearing to be too long. Traditional kilts are measured at about belly button height or a tad higher at your natural waist. Take it to a kilt maker and see what he/she says before you start surgery!

Yes talk to a kilt maker, take the kilt in and go from there. Of course it could be too long, many off the peg kilts are 24 inches long so that is something to think about as well.
