    Hawich tartan re-launch

On behalf of the Scottish Tartans Authority I've been working to correct the various records of the Hawick tartan to get it back to the original version. It's about to be re-launched. Here's the result.

Ah, the late Bill McLaren, what a commentator! TV Rugby has been the poorer, since he passed away.

I have no idea Peter, I lost what little interest in the game that I had, when the professional game took over.

Nice to see the Hawick tartan being revived. It was prominent at Hawick town twinning events but these have become fewer in recent years. Also was worn by Hawick Pipe Band before they merged with Stow Pipe Band and became Scottish Borders Pipe Band from the start of the 2011 competition season.

A very lovely tartan. Just as an aside, I have the excellent LP recording that the Hawick Pipe Band made around the mid-1970s and which I bought around the same time. I had expected to meet the Hawick Pipe Band when I came to Hawick with the Can-Am Pipes and Drums in 2012 and 2014. Cessna152towser's posting explains why I didn't, I guess.
