Highlanders and the American Revolution.
Where can I find out about Highlanders service in the American Revolution. My oral family history is the first McLean ancestor received land on Prince Edward Island or Nova Scotia after serving with the british.
Any decent references on highlander service during the revolution?
Of course some of you may call the conflict by a different name.

Im at a loss at the moment, pretty much all my references are regarding the Highland Regiments here in North America during the French and Indian War.
Most likely regiment that your ancestor served in was the 84th Regiment of Foot, the Royal Highland Emigrants, but could have been any of the Highland, English or even Loyalist units.
Highland Regiments that I can remember:
42nd Royal Highland Regiment
71st Highland Regiment, Fraser's Highlanders
76th " " MacDonalds Highlanders
84th
There were also Highland units in the North Carolina Loyalists as well as a Highland Company in the Queens Rangers.

David, Electric Scotland link gives 404 not found. Other link fine, and thanks. I have a gggg-grandfather from Angus who was apparently
in Bladen County and might have been at Moore's Creek. Later owned land and married in Robeson (Bladen) before moving to Vidalia, Georgia
early 1800s. Have never seen any muster rolls, may not exist.
