... that kilts make you stronger!?

I'm not unaccustomed to manual work and labour, as my yard can attest. But I'm not 20 anymore and things take a bit of time. Yet the past two days I've worn a utility kilt while taking on a project of large pavers and stone and I've had no problem at all with heavy lifting, shovelling, and generally heaving things about. Even SWMBO commented. Well, it was "don't hurt yourself" but only because, I'm sure, of the herculean efforts she was witnessing.

It's the kilt giving strength, I'm sure of it!!

I remember the "Keds" tennis shoe commercials from the 1960's that claimed a child could. "...run faster and jump higher." Kilts do one better than that because you get "swish and swagger" with all the other perks.

I know that when I wear the extra long black kilt, rather than the regulation black trousers to go out doing something with the morris side things seem to go particularly well.

Last Saturday I wore trousers and the blasted maypole tried to fall on me - missed by a whisker.
Maybe it didn't recognise me....

I'm sure that you've heard that "a man in a kilt is a man and a half". So when you're doing manual labor while wearing a kilt, it's like you and half another guy are doing the work.

All joking aside, if your trousers are impeding your freedom of motion, then working in a kilt might actually be easier.
