New member from Northern California - Long time kilt wearer

    Hello,
From the SF Bay Area in California, son of a Teutcher who came to the USA, via Canada. Former competitive Highland Dancer, now a Highland Dance teacher, also have done Scottish Country Dancing and Ceilidh Dancing. Know just enough Gaelic to get myself in trouble, interested in the Scots Tongue as well.
Currently for all of my sins still play as a goal keeper with our local Shinty club, have played on Shinty teams from California who traveled to Scotland to compete. Have also tried my hand at Irish Hurling and Gaelic Football, played Rugby in my youth. Other Scottish interests are the Scots in the 19th century and early 20th century. Avid follower of various Scottish musicians and musical groups. Have done historical re-enacting in the past, on multiple occasions have done extended back country treks wearing and sleeping in a great kilt.
Currently do a lot of hill walking and am in training to do some Munros on my next visit to Scotland.
