Balmoral Kilt arrived.
It arrived yesterday, the kilt is beautifull, the quality as far as I can say, it is my first kilt, superior. Very happy, looks even better than I imagined.
I wish the customer service had been as superior as the kilt is.
After English isn’t my native language I’m trieing to do as much as possible in writing. First contact started with me asking some questions by email, never got a respons, only after I gave a not so favourable rating on facebook, I got in contact with a women called Margaret with facebook messenger. We texted a few times back and forth, till she stoped answering.
I was close to go with a companie from Dartmouth, NS, but desided to go with Burnett’s & Struth, I asked Margaret if the offer of the 10% discount still stands, never got an answer.
I orderd the kilt by phone, everything went relly well for the ordering part, after I didn’t got an order confirmation, I called again and they sent it by email and told me they will keep me updated on the progress.
After two weeks I thought it would be time to ask if there was some progress made, I sent an email, after a few days without a responce, I asked Margret via facebook and some hours later I got an email. I was told the kilt would be finished on 13th of December and sent right away to me.
Next thing I know was a surprice yesterday as my kilt arrived in the mail.

Pics please. As the Balmoral is a tartan restricted to the Royal Familiy and pipers on the estate I'd be surprised if it is THE Balmoral tartan.

Could it be that it's a kilt made of Marton Mills 11oz polyviscose fabric known as "Balmoral"

Could be a Scotweb kilt as they call the traditional 8 yard kilt "The Balmoral Kilt".

BALMORAL is the style of the Kilt it just means that it is 100% hand sewn.

Enjoy your new kilt. I got my Clan Farquharson on Friday from Burnett's and Struth. I love it and am awaiting Friday so I can wear it for My Seniors I work with.. My next kilt in the Spring, Clan Fraser Ancient Hunting, will be a Lochcarron from Burnett's and as Struth. You must share some photos of you wearing it.

Sorry for the confusion, it isn’t the Bamoral tartan, the kilt model is called the Balmoral kilt, means 100% hand sewn 8 yard 16oz, compared to the 8 yard traditional Edinburgh kilt, witch is partially hand sewn.
I tried to upload pic with the opening post, but did’t worked.

Got it, thanks. As a kilt style I've not come across the term Balmoral before. I understand the desire to differentiate between a fully and partially hand-sewn kilt but not sure that the '8 yards' would necessarily stand up to scrutiny in all cases. That aside, the tartan is of course, MacGregor.

What is the large black square on the outside of the inner apron? Is it a pocket or something?

It is a pocket.
I tried to google it, to find out if thats standart on a kilt, but found nothing about pockets on the inner apron. After I don’t have a sporran, I think it comes handy for my cell phone and car keys, it doesn’t show when they are in the pocket.
