very few Robbie Burns suppers this year, in metro vancouver

there seems to be very few Robbie Burns suppers, in Metro Vancouver, this year. I was hoping to find one Jan, 20th, but one ( Delta Police pipe band) is sold out & the other (Solvacian hall, in Burnaby) has a voice message, directed to a # that is no longer in service.
Wonder wht so few? lack of interest? lack of volunteers?

    none here either

Courtenay is a relatively small community here on the upper end of Vancouver island, and most Robbie Burns night celebrations are private affairs with just a few invited guests........Hopefully I will be able to find a small Haggis and put on my own Robbie Burns night......it will have to be a small one though as it will take some tall persuading to convince the MemSahib to enjoy a slice with me heh! heh!Click image for larger version.

I would suggest the Vancouver police department one I went to a couple of years ago as I was in town for a meeting, and they had an impressive single malt selection. I even won the 50/50 draw that night so it was all free and money in my sporran when I left
Simon Fraser pipe band usually has one too
Good luck on the haggis hunt

Very few anywhere this year. The nearest I could find was 53 miles away, and on the Sunday evening of the week prior to Burns Night. Who wants a late night supper and an hour's drive home when you need to be up early for work next morning? Here in the south of Scotland, at least there is some justification for no longer holding Burns Suppers, since a few years ago a Burns Supper led to an eColi outbreak. I do miss them though.
