    Vintage Heaven c1961

While consuming my usual morning coffee and perusing the sewing blogs I found this gem.

    https://thevintagetraveler.wordpress...nd-wools-1961/

I’m a little in love with the designs, style lines and overall look in the catalogue and thought Xmarkers may enjoy a walk down memory lane.
    Does anyone have similar catalogues?
Did anyone shop like this or remember the store?

As I’m stuck at home on the waiting list for a knee reconstruction, sewing is helping to stave of the boredom.
I can only sew in short spurts as typically it’s my right knee that’s damaged - the one I use on the presser foot!
And to add to my woes, it’s revotingly hot downunder and I’m not going to lay on the couch with metres of wool on my lap to hand sew a kilt!

I can however plot, plan, research and cut out fabric for future projects.

I have some fabulous textured red wool that was going to be a Channel jacket but I think I may try to reproduce the ‘Lothian’ jacket.
And the skirt styles... so much choice, soooo much suitable fabric in the stash!

So any comments, hints or tips?
I’m interested in how the pleats were handled?
Were there similar guidelindes of pleating to the sett, stripe, etc in ladies skirts?
Pattern matching is a given. All those tiny stripes to match up on a seam!
I love that there was a choice of waistband or petersham ribbon (I have masses of vintage petersham in my stash that I use constantly)

    Vintage Heaven!
