Does the Yellow Tie and Tattersall Shirt Work?

It was a beautiful day out, so I thought I'd go for a lighter look. Do you think the tattersall shirt and yellow tie work?

I was wearing a yellow tie today and think they work well with most tartans, your tie and shirt look fine together.

IMO no, not with that particular shirt. I prefer contrasting tones so prefer to wear a yellow tie on a darker (usually blue) check or striped shirt. On a lighter shirt I wear a darker tie, usually regimental but sometimes patterned.

Good point. I have a brown tie that goes with that tartan. It would have gone well with the brown lines in the shirt, also (which you can't quite see due to the slight blur of the photo. The person who took it didn't have a steady hand.)

I too like contrast - otherwise, at first glance it looks like you're not wearing a tie.

I really think that you are seriously overthinking all this matching stuff.
