Custom contemporary kilt jacket - need someone to create

    Greetings fellow members.

I am looking for someone to make a custom kilt jacket and waistcoat in a contemporary style. Without the epaulets and argyll style cuffs. Here is the big difference. I would like it in canvas duck cloth. Similar to a field style jacket. Flap pockets and gusseted shoulders. Anyone have any ideas as to who could make this project a reality?

Thank you in advance for any direction you might have.

    kilt kut jacket

I have a contemporary Kilt kut jacket with a waist coat that is my go to jacket. I also had a very favourite sports coat cut down using that Kilt Kut coat as a pattern. I like to wear my kilted attire as a contemporary outfit, not as Highland attire. . I'm sure if you have a jacket that you already enjoy any seamstress could use it as a pattern, and turn it into a kilt Kut Jacket. The two photos I've attached show the two outfits almost in the same pose so can be looked at or examined as to how they copy each other

Although this jacket began as an argyle style the Argyle gauntlet cuffs are now regular suit coat three button open cuffs.
The epauletes are gone as is the scalloping and buttoning of the pocket flaps.
The front opening is straighter to create a three button opening.
And while still tailored it has added room under the arms to better fit the N. american style.

There are 86 different fabrics that this can be made from but I do not know of the fabric you mention. Can you tell me if you are thinking of a Cotton Duck fsbric?

Almost all Cotton Duck fabrics will wrinkle badly.

Thinking outside of the box here ...
Maybe there is a shooting jacket (already of the material with the flaps over the pockets, ie. military field jacket) that could be converted to fit your idea. Someone may have better directions for construction, but I congratulate the thought of alternative materials for outer wear.

It sort of sounds like you want an out of doors jacket for the field.

A shooting jacket would not need to be cut like a kilt jacket. Only a dress up jacket would ned that styling.

So it may help to know what sort of events you plan to wear this jacket to.

I would like to have something like this for casual wear with Robertson hunting kilt. This particular jacket and waistcoat are no longer made and not sure how the length would be with a kilt.
