To me the Ebay dirk is priced far too high for what it is.

Looks conspicuously like a Windless Steelcraft dirk that has been left out in the elements. Incidentally, Windless of India are military contractors to a number of nations, and claim to be supplying the U.K. MOD with certain ceremonial edged weapons and other regalia as well. Could be. The MOD has flirted in the past with saving money by using India and Pakistan for pipes (C. WWII), Highland accouterments, kilts etc.

No apparent markings...I guess "India" was filed off at some point. Poorly made blade. Terrible condition - artificially "aged" - and a poor description. Asking far too much for a suspect piece, IMHO.

Well, I was struck right off with the comment that it's 17th or 18th century Victorian. That's a bit of rewriting history, as the Victorian era was in the 19th century.
