For chores outside or inside the house I have an old beat-up black Utilikilt that serves the purpose. Boots are 10" steel toe. A pocket t-shirt when it is hot. Cooler temperatures I will go with a cotton shirt. I Like my Dickies long sleeve cotton shirts for colder temperatures.

Do you wear a sporran with your utility kilt?

As a general rule when I wear a utility type kilts it is a very casual situation. I do not wear a sporran. Working on projects around the house the sporran would get in the way. When I want to dress a little nicer I wear tartan kilts and always with a sporran.

I put velcro on the side pockets of my utility kilt. I remove them and wear a sporran for causal events where I might get messy. The fabric is a PV tartan that holds the side pockets reasonably (with an inner safety pin on each upper end).
