    Back soon.

I've been away from the forum for a couple of years now. The problem was, all the weight I lost in order to look reasonable in a kilt, began to creep back on after wearing a kilt for a year. So now I have arthritis in my left knee, the doctor has told me to loose weight. I'd gone from a 42 inch waist to a 54. I'm currently at 48, so have 6 more inches to go, though actually I'm going to aim for 38. So I've lost 6 inches in less than a month on a very strict diet requiring a lot of willpower and self discipline. Right now I'm really hungry! The reward though will be to be kilted again. Welsh cilts, that is.

    Well done, keep it up!
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Best of luck to ya Mel.

I've gone from a 50 waist 15 years ago to a 40 today. And I'm on my way down. My kilts have to be taken in.

    My secret? Eat less, lol.

    Thanks guys.

Once you get into the habit of not cleaning your plate, it's not hard to take that to the next step and just change how you eat. I didn't change much, just have one potato instead of two, one piece of toast instead of two, a single slice of bread cut in half for a sandwich., stuff like that. I stopped drinking soft drinks (of any kind) too.

The hardest things is foods you used to pig out on. Cannot do that anymore!

Currently 1/2 a bowl of cereal in the morning, a tin of soup plus 1 slice of bread midday and one slice of bread and small tin of oily fish in the evening, without variation. I've found you just kind of ignore the hunger pains and eventually you hardly notice them.
