I'd say I was holding back. Both are modern ideas that are not traditional or even appealing to me. My sister once bought me a very expensive Ghillie Shirt for Christmas, it got returned on Boxing Day and I got 2 new pair of hose that I would actually wear instead of burning the shirt.

Again, extreme! Burning shirts!? Anyway, I would say plaids and Ghillie shirts sit in the realm of modern traditional. If that makes sense? They are modern versions/developments of traditional garments, while also being those traditional garments.

I am sorry Patrick, but your kilt attire would never ever be considered as traditional, not even modern traditional by those that have been around kilt attire for some time. Presumably you know that as you have posted this thread in the contemporary section.
