    Stewart Royal Modern from Scotweb

    Greetings all.
My new Scotweb Balmoral 8 yard was just dropped off by the DHL courier. I’m pretty happy with it. It’s well made and the fit is very good. I’m not too thrilled with the shipping method. It was folded and stuffed in an extra large Manila envelope, then into the DHL shipping bag. Also the pleats were not basted and suffered for it. I’ll post some pics if and when I can get it looking presentable. It really is a great looking kilt. I just wish they had taken a few more pains with the packing.

I’m going to put up a couple of pics of my new baby for the rabble. Gravity can sometimes be your friend! Most of the worst wrinkles have fallen out and the pleats seem to have worked their way mainly back into place. 16oz wool is amazing stuff! I’ll probably wear it out tomorrow night. My wife calls it my Rowdy Roddy Piper kilt. Yes, I know, I don’t recall ever seeing him in Royal Stewart either, but who am I to argue? Maybe some pics with it on soon if I can get her to snap one or two. I refuse to do mirror selfies! It’s also my first time using The Wizard’s double hanger method. I am definitely not worried about it turning loose and hitting the floor.

No clue why the second pic is sideways.
I love MOD kilts, but can never find one to fit my big self. I had it pleated military fashion and omitted the fringe, as I did on my J. Higgins made Black Watch a year or two back.
