    Newbie from Michigan

Hello fellow kilted! I have donned the kilt for over a year now. I enjoy wearing them daily when not at work and am a little concerned about the damage the kilt pin causes with wear. I was thinking of having a leather "accent" with an embroidered Celtic Cross on it, mounted on the corner of the flap where the kilt pin would have gone. Any opinions for or against this?

    Welcome to the "Great Rabble"!

Pins are totally optional. A lot of folks don't wear one at all.

Well met and welcome. We have a number of members that sew patches on their kilts instead of using kilt pins. Grizzbass has the most patches that I know of. As Father Bill states, some folks wear no pins on their kilt. There are even those that back their kilt pin on an adhesive material that can be adhered to the kilt.

Glad to have you with us and hope you'll share your decision (even options) with us.

Welcome, fellow newcomer. I hear this place is quite a "rabble", whatever that could mean in an online forum!

If you are going to do it clothed, do it in a kilt!
