Anyone have a Sgian Dubh with a lanyard?

I stumbled across some Sgians dubh with a brass hole for a lanyard the price is really good for a Damascus blade from what I believe would be a reputable UK vendor. What does the rabble think? See link below

Unusual, but at least it's not way out there in the weirdness world. Nothing to say you have to put a lanyard on it - I sure wouldn't. It would just be something to get caught and either lose your knife, cut your leg, or stretch your hose way out of shape.

I'd agree with Father Bill, also they look like great knives. So if you like the way they look go for it.

I have one of those cheap Colt branded sgian dubh (replaced to crappy wooden sheath with a leather one).

It has a brass hole like that and actually had a leather thong through it that I removed.

I don’t think the hole matters and it doesn’t effect it fitting into my hose-cuff. If you like that knife on Etsy, I’d go for it.

I also picked up one of those Colt knives and replaced the thong with a short braided lanyard. I usually wear it with a utility kilt with regular length kilt hose. The lanyard kind of replaces flashes.

I got the below pictured sgian from these folks. Very nice and what they call "a good edge" is quite sharp.

Yea, I had a sgain with a lanyard once.

But every time I walked the lanyard pulled on my neck. Made me look like a chicken walking.
