A warm Scottish welcome from middle England. You could just start with using a universal tartan, wool or PV. PV is more affordable. I expect Steve at Freedom Kilts could advise you on makers of kilted skirts who could incorporate pockets.
Alternatively do a search on Google for kilted skirts with pockets, you might find something you fancy to tide you over until you can source precisely what you want. I only found a minimal selection searching from the UK.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Welcome from Ohio, USA. As mentioned above some kilts do have pockets. I have contemporary tartan kilts with pockets hidden in the pleats near the front apron.

    Howdy from Tennessee, USA.

You should definitely get a kilt and your entire family should get them too. It would be nice if they were just a wee bit more common everywhere. And they are very comfortable. I'm wearing mine at work just now!
