    Stan & Ollie London Premiere

    Spotted Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly attending the London Premiere of the Laurel & Hardy biopic, "Stan & Ollie" wearing Irish National Kilts.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...-premiere.html

    The director said;

    "They're wearing them because they wear them in the film.

    There's a scene where they go to Scotland and wear these oversized kilts but they thought it would be a nice little touch as well and, as you can see, a good photo opportunity."

    I'm looking forward to seeing the film, always enjoyed Laurel and Hardy!

    One of the funniest skits on film, Laural and Hardy, "Way Out West", when Stan Laural tried to lift Oliver Hardy to a second floor balcony to break into a safe, using a donkey to try to lift Oliver. I never laughed so much as that specific skit, just love those guys, no comedy like that anymore. Glad to hear about this movie, will have to go to that one.

    Just saw the previews on YouTube and can't wait for it come out. Introduced to Laurel and Hardy as a child by my father. Used to catch all their films on a local PBS station that aired classic movies on Sunday matinees. And my brother bought several of their shorts for his 8mm projector that we used to view over and over to mimic their mannerisms. I think it opens in U.S. in early 2019. It would be fun to go to in a kilt but probably more likely if I were with other kilters!

    Is Coogan missing a tassel on his sporran, or are my eyes just a fooling me?

    Looks like it to me. I wonder if it accidentally got flipped up inside the sporran before he closed the flap, or if it just fell off entirely.

    Aside from the white hose, ghillie brogues, and belts under their waistcoats, they looked fairly well turned out.

    Why that tartan? Would kilts in Irish National existed in the 1930s? Just wondering.

    Since it was designed in 1995, it seems unlikely.
