    Tartan ID Assistance Needed

Found a kilt for auction but no info about it other than size. Does anyone recognize this tartan? Unfortunately, there's only pictures of the back, but at least it's pleated to the sett.

So did you end up buying it? I recognized it from the Goodwill auction site. Since the auction is over, I can relate that source. There was a nice Argyle jacket sold with the Lochcarron made kilt.

Unfortunately I was outbid on the auction, which is a bit disappointing since there don't seem to be as many quality used kilts for gentlemen of substance, like myself. I'm still curious about the tartan though; I kinda like it.

It was sheer luck that I found it. I thought it was some sort of fashion tartan or commercial tartan. But I was scrolling through clan tartans on the Lochcarron site and saw it near the very bottom.

This is yet another example of how useless the Tartan Ferret site is for searching tartans by colour. I must have tried that service hundreds of times over the years, and have never found what I'm looking for. This tartan is simple enough that one should be able to to a colour search and enter a simple BYKYB string in the search box (blue, yellow, black, yellow, blue) or even KGKAKGK (black, green, black, azure, black, green, black) and have this tartan come up on the results. But it doesn't. It will come up on the search by name, but not by colour string, even though the pattern is clearly identified in their system. I sure wish they'd put some more effort into that site so that it could actually be used.
