    New to X

I just joined. I am a regular kilt wearer of maternal Scottish lineage in the US (but that got mostly muddled out during 20th century assimilation - Gracey is my mother's surname with Stewerts and Cambells all over the place). Still, I ended up getting married kilted (but not with a rental - picked up a nice used Lindsay in Helensburgh) and my wife was more than happy to honeymoon in Scotland. I even convinced my lads to wear kilts at the wedding (bribed them by letting them keep their skean dhus and cut the cake with them).

While I do occasionally tire of being asked if I am a piper (nope), the constant questions about why I wear a kilt (and what's under it) give me unlimited opportunities to talk history. Full disclosure - I am a historian. It also keeps my students wondering...

I do have a question, though. I was at a local second-hand shop, and the owners, who know me, called me over to look at two boy's kilts. I did not recognize the pattern, though, and I could not identify it through an on-line search (sadly, as frequently pointed out, no app yet). If possible, I would like to post the image and see if anyone recognizes them off hand.

Well met and welcome new friend. Please post the kilt photos from the second hand shop. I expect identification will be quick. It is also good to have a historian with us. Glad you joined us.
