    Welcome from sunny Southern California!

About hiking in the kilt, I did a bit of that early on in my kiltwearing days, back when I was a teenager and an avid backpacker.

The kilt I hiked in was wool- canvas Utilikilts were decades in the future!

I quickly gave it up as not entirely practical. Now, due to the advent of Utilikilts, it's quite practical.

Greetings from the other side of the "pond." Thanks very much for your kind message. Making one's own kilt is a great experience and it teaches and develops a number of valuable transferable skills. One of them I sorely lacked: patience!

Best regards to you and enjoy the season!

Greetings from the far south of the state - Long Island.

I have piped in the NY and Chicago Pride parades with friends, and plan to (haven’t made it yet) to do so at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade with King’s County P&D (I have a few friends in the band)

welcome, and I look forward to hearing more about your kilt making experiences!

Welcome to the forum from a former "upstater," (Saugerties.) There are some beautiful places to hike up there.
    Cheers,
