Ancestry Research Meet Up - Hamilton Cunningham Carruthers

Thanks to the wonders of Ancestry.com, a fifth cousin from North Carolina, USA contacted me and we toured some family sites together in Glasgow and Paisley today.
Bill and I share common ancestry through a set of 4 x great grandparents. I am descended from one of their daughters and he is from the other daughter. On my line, Jane Hamilton married a MacKenzie whose daughter then married a Cunningham. His ancestor Ann Hamilton married a Carruthers and emigrated, initially to Canada. As the shared ancestors were Hamiltons I wore an ex-hire kilt in Ancient Hunting Hamilton. Bill wore his Carruthers tie.
