They certainly make very nice dress boots.

My hiking boots are Vasque Sundowners, so they are all leather and don't look all that puffy to me, although others may disagree. I do love the look of the Corcoran jump boots and the Daltons, I just don't happen to have a pair of either (although I have thought of buying both, I have never gotten around to doing so).

Frankly, all the boots on this thread would look great with a kilt.

In the past few days I have purchased these two styles of boot..
Haven't tried them on yet but hopefully at least one pair gives me the look I'm after.20190606_074128.jpg

That second pair looks very similar to the ones I purchased last year from Samuel Windsor (some differences in the soles, however). May I enquire as to the source?

I am partial to ankle length boots with the kilt, for a pseudo-Victorian look. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "drinkin' kilt" look, but I do think they work well with the kilt.

    Maker... Base London
    Style... Hurst

Advertised online from Base London for £80 but I managed to pick them up from a store in town for half that.
Unusual for that style of boot is the air cushioned sole which is similar to a Doc Martin shoe.

I like Doc Marten’s as I don’t have to try and get a style in a wide width as they seem to all come naturally wide. How would you describe the width of
Base London? As they don’t appear to offer wide widths.

I've purchased many pairs of Base London boots and shoes over the past few years and do find them to be a standard, not too wide a fit.
That's the main reason I purchase this brand as I do have quite narrow feet and many brands like Clarks are usually too wide for me!

    The right boot

I wear different style of boots, but I own about 6 pairs of Haix.
    They are my favorite brand.

They are very good quality shoes and they make shoes voor civilian, army ,police, firefighter, construction they also have sport shoes.
So You must be able to find a style that You like.
They are issued working boots so on Ebay You can find them brand new for low prices.

I wear them since 2001 when I became a firefighter at the firestation some tried other brands but most came back to the Haix.
for example I placed some Haix boots:
