I attended the 2nd and 3rd games and greatly missed them last year. If I am able my wife and I will be there.

Not to hijack the subject of the original post but would the Salado games be worth the 4 hours drive from Wichita Falls?

I drive farther for events that I enjoy far less, so I’d say yes. Salado is one of our favorites.

I agree, Salado is one of my favourite ones. It's about a 3-hour drive for me, and I usually just make a day trip of it. If you're going to stay overnight, be advised that the lodging choices are limited, as are the dining choices.

But Kerrville has plenty of both.

    Salado review

Been to Salado the last 6 years. If you can afford it (yea, we're Scots) all the events have been worth it.
The clan turn out has been great, I'd guess 20 +/-.
Unfortunately its a "dry" event. But that doesn't mean a wee bit can't be had.
Last year's Tartan Dinner was a BBQ which was quite good.
Local lodging is sparse as are restaurants. Stagecoach Inn is now open (?).

On another note: Tobus - here in Fredericksburg we have BEER, WINE and GERMAN food (and some lodging) --
