The drawing depicts an outfit practical for the era (in my opinion). The bags and packs would substitute for a sporran to carry the necessary items needed for daily use. This is very reasonable for the times and will give a perspective to reenacating past events. Thanks for the update.

Hello fellow time traveller
You and i have something in common. That being our interest in the 18th century. My particular interest is in the 1750's military. i have collected all the reproduction "iron" accoutrements (one from each side) and all the leather equipment, (bullet boxes,&c). At the moment i am purposely not collecting the uniforms; reproduction uniforms are very expensive and often lack authenticity unless you have well researched the subject and can locate a manufacture of like mind. Also, travel to meet with other like minded historical re-enactors is about 3 provinces to my right. But i have thought about assembling a Longhunter or "coureur de bois" persona and equipment. Mostly i just like things that go Bang.
